About Us

🦁 Laurel Dell Elementary is located in the heart of San Rafael, nestled in the Picnic Valley neighborhood and close to the Bret Harte and Gerstle Park communities. We proudly serve students in grades K–5, with typically two classes per grade, on our newly renovated and welcoming campus.

Our school community celebrates diversity, inclusion, and connection. In a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment, our students grow socially, emotionally, and academically—building the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Laurel Dell’s success is made possible by our dedicated teachers and staff, our supportive families, and the strong partnerships we have with our PTA, HeadsUp (District Foundation), and community organizations. Together, we create meaningful learning experiences and enrichment opportunities that help every child shine.

Laurel Dell is one of seven elementary schools in the San Rafael City Schools district, which also includes a middle school, two comprehensive high schools, and a continuation high school.

Our district is guided by a shared vision for student success and a strategic plan called Together 2024, which was created in partnership with our community. This plan highlights our core values of equity, community, and joy, and outlines the goals and actions that help all students thrive.

Through our Graduate Profile, San Rafael City Schools defines the essential skills every student needs to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world. At Laurel Dell, we’re committed to helping every child grow these skills so they can confidently pursue their dreams and future goals. 🌟
